GRADE 11

1ST SEMESTER

This is the time to perfect your academic profile with an impressive transcript, accumulate certificates, awards, and excel in English proficiency tests such as IELTS or TOEFL. Elevate your extracurricular profile by joining clubs, volunteering, and working on personal projects. Begin drafting your Personal Statement to genuinely and creatively showcase your personality, passions, and study abroad goals.

Select 5-7 potential universities that suit you. Research the admission requirements of each school thoroughly.

Start writing your Personal Statement according to each school’s instructions

Join clubs and extracurricular activities to develop soft skills and build your extracurricular profile

Find information about suitable scholarships and prepare scholarship applications

Take English proficiency tests (IELTS/TOEFL)

Take the SAT/ACT and try to score high

2ND SEMESTER

Polish your Personal Statement to affirm your identity and your study abroad goals creatively and convincingly. Get a letter of recommendation from a reputable teacher to score points for your abilities and qualities. Search for information and complete your scholarship application that matches your abilities and financial conditions. Prepare full financial documents such as savings books and bank statements to prove your ability to pay for your study abroad expenses.

Complete personal essay, review and prepare to submit to school

Identify a list of teachers who need letters of recommendation and provide information for them to write letters of recommendation.

Prepare financial documents for your study abroad application (savings book, bank statement,…).

Learn about documents, papers and instructions for applying to study abroad

Retake foreign language certificates, SAT/ACT if you do not achieve your goals

Complete the scholarship application and admission application

GRADE 12

SEPTEMBER – OCTOBER

Complete and submit your application early: If you are applying early (Early Action or Early Decision), complete and submit your application before the deadline (usually early November).

Apply for financial aid: Apply for financial aid from schools and other organizations.

Apply for scholarships: Complete and submit scholarship applications to other schools and organizations.

NOVEMBER – DECEMBER

Complete and submit the regular application: The regular application deadline is usually around early January, so please complete all applications and submit them by the deadline.

Submit additional documentation if needed:
If there are additional requirements from the schools, please complete and submit them promptly.

JANUARY – APRIL

Check application status: Monitor school emails and portals to check application status and respond to additional requests if any.

Receive and compare admission decisions: Receive admission decisions from schools and compare financial aid packages.

Decide on a school: Decide on a school and send your admission decision notification by the deadline (usually May 1).

Complete admission procedures: Complete admission procedures such as course registration and submission of required documents.

Apply for a student visa: Prepare all documents and apply for a student visa (F-1)

Student VISA Interview: Prepare well for the interview and be ready to express your dream of studying abroad to the embassy

AFTER GETTING VISA

Prepare your luggage: Prepare the necessary items for going to school and settling into life at the new school.
